ThedaCare Regional Medical Center - Neenah, 130 Second Street, Neenah, Wisconsin
Theda Clark Peters, Neenah native, the namesake of Theda Clark Hospital, was known as a community activist wholly spirited with civic responsibility. Unfortunately, she passed away in 1903 after giving birth to her daughter due to a hemorrhage from the labor.
Before Theda's death she left a bequest of $96,000 that she requested be used to better the community. You can learn more about the life of Theda Clark Peters (and her father C.B. Clark) from the 2019 Cemetery Walk on the Neenah Historical Society's YouTube channel here:

The Clark family donated an extra $30,000 towards building a hospital. The actual construction of the building cost $80,000 and the remaining $46,000 went towards paying for operations. When it was first constructed, the hospital only had 25 beds for patients and only admitted a total of 196 patients in the first year. However, by 1919, the amount of patients rose to 1,114. The advancement of the hospital was a large factor that contributed to the increase in patients. The hospital added an intensive care unit, open heart surgery, hip replacement surgery, and a CT scan. In 1967, construction started for a new addition to the hospital. The continuous increase in patients reflected the need of the hospital to expand and grow. You can learn more about the hospital's history through the Neenah Historical Society's presentation with Dr. Jennifer Frank from October 2020 on the Neenah Historical Society's YouTube channel here:
